The Royal and Sun Alliance UK Pension Scheme 2002 Scheme….is now closed

The 2002 Scheme was closed on 31 December 2005.

If you were a member of the Scheme on 31 December 2005 and you were employed by the Company your contributions to the Scheme would have ceased from that date and you were offered the opportunity to join the RSA Stakeholder Pension Plan, provided by Prudential. Later in 2006 you would have been sent an option pack by the Company giving you the option, for a limited period, to transfer your benefits from the 2002 Scheme into another pension arrangement with an enhanced transfer value.

If you had already left the Company on 31 December 2005 but you were a member of the Scheme your contributions would already have ceased. You were also sent an option pack with the same offer for a limited period.

If you took the offer to transfer out your transfer should now be complete and you will have no further benefits in the 2002 Scheme.

If you have not chosen to transfer your benefits out of the Scheme you may now be a deferred member of the Scheme. (Please note that if you only had a short period of service in the Scheme i.e less than two years, you will not be a deferred member your default option would have been a refund of any of your own contributions or ‘no benefits’. You will have been bought back into the state pension arrangements instead.)

Any deferred members in the Scheme still have the option to transfer out but the enhanced transfer value is no longer on offer.
