Fay Robinson
Fay is an accredited Trustee and a lead scheme secretary with over 10 years’ experience covering pensions administration and consultancy of defined benefit (DB) and defined contribution (DC) schemes. Fay carries out scheme secretarial duties on four schemes. These schemes include both DB and DC, as well as hybrid schemes, that range from £12m to £1bn.
Fay excels at assisting clients in navigating the ever-changing landscape of pension regulations. She adeptly breaks down complex regulations into manageable and understandable parts. Fay is a dynamic and personable team member with strong skills in organisation, planning, and communication. She was honoured with the Trustee of the Year award at the 2023 Professional Pensions Rising Star Awards.
Before joining Dalriada, Fay was a consultant at a pension actuarial, consultancy and administration firm for six years, managing occupational pensions schemes ranging from £5m to £120m. Her role covered secretarial activities, coordinating scheme wind-ups, bulk transfers, liability management exercises and investment reviews. During this time, Fay helped trustee boards establish and manage their internal controls, integrated risk management and strategy. She worked closely with trustees, employers and advisers/providers to ensure meetings were well-prepared, managed effectively and actions were continually monitored and progressed.
Fay has also worked in administration, consulting and trusteeship for schemes entering the Financial Assistance Scheme, the Pension Protection Fund (“PPF”) and wind-up. Working in this specialist area of pensions, meant Fay managed project plans and monitored budgets on a daily basis. Her role was also focused on liaising with other advisers and providers to progress specific projects within set timescales and strict budgets.
Fay also has a great deal of experience in liaising with members, especially drafting and reviewing member announcements and letters. She appreciates the need for timely, clear and jargon-free communications and their importance during projects, such as preparation for buy-out.
