Emer Maguire

Emer is a highly skilled pensions professional with over a decade of experience in the industry, spanning roles in actuarial support, pensions consulting, scheme secretary, trustee representation, and client management. A Fellow of the Institute & Faculty of Actuaries since 2018 and an APPT Accredited Professional Trustee since 2022, Emer brings significant expertise to her role.

Emer joined the 3173 group of companies in 2014 as a graduate, following her First Class Honours degree in Actuarial Science & Risk Management from Queen’s University Belfast. During her degree, she completed a 13-month placement with Aviva Life & Pensions in Dublin, enriching her foundational knowledge. She transitioned to the Dalriada side of the business in March 2020.

In her current trusteeship role, Emer effectively manages defined benefit scheme issues through client management, regulatory compliance, and strategic project delivery. Her focus on achieving optimal outcomes for pension scheme members includes coordinating business plan activities and consulting on complex matters. Emer’s role enables her to apply her technical expertise daily, advancing both her consulting skills and her contributions within a rapidly growing, innovative company.

With extensive experience across the 3173 group, Emer is enthusiastic about leveraging her actuarial and pensions expertise to specifically support Dalriada Together schemes.

Outside of work, Emer enjoys balancing family life with her young daughter and is passionate about attending concerts, dining out, and travelling.
