Lorraine Birks

Lorraine is a Pensions Manager and Scheme Secretary within Dalriada’s Pensions Management team, having joined Dalriada in September 2024. She brings a wealth of expertise in pensions secretarial and governance work. An Associate member of the Pensions Management Institute (APMI), Lorraine recently achieved her Advanced Diploma in Retirement Provision and is preparing for her professional pension trustee accreditation. 

Before joining Dalriada, Lorraine was a Trustee Services Manager for a £bn+ defined benefit scheme in the UK and a €50M scheme in Ireland. In these roles, she was responsible for drafting agendas, preparing meeting packs, minute-taking, and supporting trustee committees on key governance projects, including NRA Equalisation and compliance with the new Code of Practice. Lorraine also worked closely with investment committees, overseeing fund reviews and ensuring cashflow arrangements met the needs of the schemes, while supporting two successful buy-ins. 

Lorraine also led the merger of three corporate trustee boards into one, managed MND selection processes, and facilitated trustee training, including onboarding new Trustee Directors. 

Outside of work, Lorraine enjoys traveling with her family, playing viola in a string quartet, and volunteering at her daughter’s Guide unit.
